PUJIANG MARKET LIFE, SHANGHAI
Pujiang Market Life, located at 175 Nan Chazhan Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, is a brand update and space renovation of the former LAFIE Shangshu Yonghui. With a total commercial area of 4800㎡, the market will feature fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, dining, and other varieties, with approximately 90 retail stalls.
The conceptual design takes the historical context of Shanghai South Railway Station as its core narrative thread, drawing design language from the station, platforms, and freight transport, while integrating the vibrant colors of vegetables and fruits. It transforms the everyday act of grocery shopping into a sensory and colorful experience. Additionally, the client has ambitious plans to make this potentially the first LEED-certified vegetable market in China.
The design revolves around four core principles:
With the support of our design philosophy, spatial language, and visual aesthetics, we aim to create a market that integrates local culture—one that balances the charm of street life with contemporary vitality. We look forward to its opening!
